Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 specifications
Samsung claims this is its sveltest Fold with a weight of 263g, a height and width that are 6.3 and 14.2-15.8mm, respectively when folded, and a thickness of 4mm.
A large part of that is due to the use of Ultra-Thin Glass. Ultra-Thin Glass is strong but slender, as its name suggests. The phone is designed to resist water for 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters thanks to its Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus Plus back and screen. In general, foldable phones are not water-resistant, but here there is no official dust-resistance, so keep that in mind.
There are 402 pixels per inch on the outer screen, which measures 6.2 inches diagonally and has a 2316 x 904 resolution, so it’s quite long and thin. At 7.6 inches, the inner screen has a 2176 x 1812 resolution, but its aspect ratio of 21.6:18 makes it appear more squarish than the outer screen. AMOLED screens have a 120Hz refresh rate and 374 pixels per inch, along with HDR10+ support.
In general, this phone doesn’t enhance the older model – just tweaks it. Screen dimensions are similar to those of the Z Fold 3. There is a smooth glass sheen on the back, but it is broken up by a camera bump (more on that later). Most of the improvements on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 are found in the camera department.
As for the camera, it’s a 50MP shooter with an f/1.8 aperture, up from 12MP on the old model, and while we don’t know the sensor, it’s rare to find a bad 50MP camera. Compared to the Fold 3, this model has a 3x optical zoom lens, though the sensor is actually downgraded to 10MP rather than 12MP. The digital zoom on this camera is also 30x.AdvertisementBesides that, there is a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens. Likewise, the front-facing cameras are the same as before: 10MP for the outer screen, and 4MP for the inner screen.
Under-Display Cameras (UDCs) sit beneath the screen and are not visible… The Z Fold 3 didn’t have a great camera, and Samsung hasn’t mentioned any improvements.
With all the usual Samsung software accoutrements, these cameras will be even more useful – modes like Single Take, Food, and others utilize artificial intelligence to help you take great pictures. It is possible to record video in resolutions of up to 8K at 24fps, or 4K at 60fps.
However, it is quite small, with a battery capacity of only 4,400mAh. While only having one screen, the S22 Ultra comes with a bigger battery. However, we’ll have to wait and see if some optimizations can extend the phone’s life.
A 25W charger won’t charge the device quickly either, so you’ll have to wait more than an hour to fully charge it. In 30 minutes, Samsung says, the phone will reach 50% power. In addition to wireless charging, the Z Fold 4 also supports 15W charging.
